It has been a busy past two months for your favourite Snobs, what with Primavera Sound and Paraiso in Spain, Janelle Monae in London and a decent pair of albums to review. Our livers may be groaning under the strain, but you didn’t think we’d forgotten to listen to good music, did you? We should hope not, because here is our seventh release, AVDIIO SNOBBERY.
Not to let you in on too many secrets, dear reader, but the curation process for this playlist was particularly arduous. Not only was getting all the Snobs in one place an unassailable challenge, but this was also a playlist we were all particularly proud of – it’s full of absolute bangers, you see.
We kick things off with Iggy Pop’s phenomenal Fall In Love With Me, an absolute gem from well-known LP The Passenger, recorded in the Berlin years with Bowie (a thread we recommended investigating some time ago). We then jump straight into some delicious German dance music from Perel with Alles (mentioned when we dived into Andhim and Super Flu). Other notable highlights to come out of our strenuous efforts to listen to good music for you are Only You by Mac Demarco, who Otacon saw in May, and There’s A Better Place by Crazy P, back then known as Crazy Penis (and boy, do we love them).
This time around, however, we decided to change things up a bit, and below you can find each of our top three tracks from AVDIIO SNOBBERY’s A-Sides, as well as our beloved B-Sides – songs that are well worth your attention once you’ve had your fill of the main event.
Kick back, headphones on and enjoy! Stay tuned for more from your dear Snobs in the weeks to come as we gear up for a very special playlist release towards the end of this delightful European summer.
With love, as ever.
Your dear Snobs
